Menzel photos
Looking at these pictures you can tell that things are very different here in the United States. The US family had all this food in there house and in the other countries they were having to cook outside with rocks and sticks. Some of the food was even being ate raw. It shows how little food there is around the world because people are eating bugs and raw fish.

The Pleasures Of Eating
1. Most dorm rooms have a window in them, growing small plants such as a tomatos or peppers can help you appreciate things fully. As for the compost, this could be a little tricky seeing as how no one wants there rooms to smell like rotten food.
2.Dorms have some sort of kitchen in the room, if they dont there is usually a common area where cooking can take place. Cooking your own food can not only save college students money it will also help you stay healthy. All college food places are on the go which means they arent the first choice when it comes to health.
3. Try to buy foods that come from local farmers, it not only helps the area but also can be the freshest. Buying food from stores can mean that they got shipped here and you might not be able to get the freshest food avaliable.
4. Buying from local farmers can also save you money because they are not shipping it. If you go to the farm and pick it up it will be cheaper then getting it from a actual store.
5. If you buy something in bulk it may last you a long time but it might not be the safest. Some chemicals that are used can be very harmful to the body.
6. Doing some research about what you think is healthy might give you a better idea of things you are putting in your body.
7. Try to eat better. Try to cut out foods that you normally eat for a period of time and explore new things. You might come to like somthing that you never even heard of.

The Cooking Ape
In Elisabeth Townsend's The Cooking Ape, she interviews Richard Wrangham on how cooking and fire has evolved us as humans. Richard starts off talking about how gazed into a fire and this led him to wonder about fire and our past time. He tells us that a long time ago our ancestors had smaller bodies, teeth and brains. He believes that this has to do with eating raw food. When humans started cooking food that's when they became bigger in size and requiring more calories. He says that there was a time when people had fire but were unaware of its capabilities. By having fire available and knowing its abilities today humans don't have to spend all day chewing their food. Cooking the food not only makes humans healthier but it also saves a lot of time.

Sometimes when I'm writing I feel like I wonder off topic.
Is there any points throughout the paper that I can elaborate on.
Do all of my points and ideas relate back to what the author is trying to argue.

A Wrestling Mom Outline
Title: A Wrestling Mom
Thesis: Mary Kay Blakely shows that a person can put aside their differences with people who are close to them by using pathos and a lot of detail to bring the situation closer to you.
I. The author uses a lot of detail in the first paragraph by describing her emotions toward what her son is developing into.
A. Mary Kay Blakely talks about how children go through phases and learning to accept them can have a huge presence in their future.
1.“Like Clint Eastwood, they’ve hankered after the respect and awe a man gets when he leaves a wake of death behind him.”
2. “Of all the role models I imagined for my sons, Hulk Hogan was not one of them.”
B. The author describes her emotion toward her sons new eating and dressing habits.
1.“For someone who once thought there was no greater heaven than helping himself to a full bag of Chips Ahoy, a stick of celery held little bliss.”
2.“A strictly jeans and T-shirt guy at age eighteen; he followed the high school athlete’s tradition of wearing ties to notify classmate.”
II. Mary Kay Blakely has a positive and negative way of using pathos throughout the essay to bring out her emotions in the reader.
A. Blakely shows us that when her son began wrestling she did not know how to express her emotions in a positive way. As time went on she learned to love what he does.
1.“As Ryan crouched into his stance, my heartbeat accelerated, my skin dampened, my own muscles became taut.”
2. “She screamed, I screamed, we all screamed”
B. Blakely uses pathos to show her frustration about women’s roles in terms of her son’s wrestling career.
1. “..women who had not served coffee to the men in our offices for the last ten years. Yet there we were, catering to sons who stood on the brink of ‘emancipated minor’.”
2.“Ryan learned things in the company of his coaches and teammates that I could never have taught him. This recognition brought an element of pain, as separation invariably does.”
Conclusion:
By using pathos and a lot of detail Mary Kay Blakely pulls the reader into her life and shows them how to put aside their differences with people that they care about.

A Wrestling Mom
The main summary of this essay is to show that in children phases come and go. Some of these phases last longer then others and some of them are worth keeping because it makes the child who they are.
Some of the strategies that the author uses to build up the argument are very helpful. I think that the way Mary Kay Blakely explains about how her son went threw the phases of Rocky or Top Gun can help grasp the readers attention becasuse everyone was a child or has children that they can relate this to.
When the author explains how she approaches a match she uses very strong ethos. As she expalins her sons warm up rutine she also explains how she handles every step like he does.
